Jerseygold is family owned and operated. We are a small kennel and operate out of our home. We are located in central New Jersey, East Brunswick, on almost 10 acres. We have owned, bred and trained Goldens for almost 25 years. We run our dogs in hunt tests and field trials and all of our dogs are hunted over in the field and water. However, our dogs are part of the family in every aspect.

Breeding and training dogs has been in my family for almost a century. My grandfather was from County Kerry Ireland. Before WWI, when he came over to the United States, he brought with him his dogs. They were miniature collies, "shelties" also known as Shetland Sheep dogs. He bred and trained them for over 50 years. He was one of the first AKC breeders in NJ and helped to organize the working rules for competition. Growing up, my family raised and bred Shelties until the mid 70's when my uncle and sister bought golden retrievers. After that, we raised goldens.

My first golden was Duke. He was out of Topbrass Cotton who was the last Golden to take the NAFC  field title. Duke was a very special dog.

Our current dogs are special too. Casey, Dutch and Riley. They are some of the best working Goldens in the state as well as family dogs.
